Our Programs at Kapown are very client-focused.
Kapown offers continuous intake every Wednesday.
We want to ensure that each individual entering our Treatment program has the very best chance in their recovery. We accomplish this by taking pride in providing up to date evidence based programming. Kapown believes that each individual requires different needs throughout their treatment Journey. At Kapown you will find a very diverse team of professionals all willing to make your experience in our Treatment Centre as therapeutic and barrier free as possible. We accomplish this by providing daily programing and allowing our clients to participate in Horse Therapy, Massage Therapy for pain management and yoga twice a week. Clients also learn to practise Meditation three times a week as part of our regular programing.
While at Kapown you will also have the option to explore our Cultural programming which includes Elder’s workshops and bi-weekly sweats. Kapown is very unique within the Alberta Region as we currently have a Registered Psychologist and Mental Health Worker on staff. Our Clients Mental Health both during and after treatment is extremely important to us. We ensure that each client completing has solid aftercare supports in place.
Our treatment philosophy is based on the recognition that addiction is a disease which effects a person physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We help individuals find the motivation, skills, resources and inner strength they need to maintain a clean and balanced lifestyle.
are a synthesis of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Introduction to Mindfulness, Motivationally Enhanced Therapy and Twelve Step Facilitation models. First Nation cultural practices; based in Western Cree tradition, are woven and integrated throughout each course of treatment.
Our dynamic CACII/ICADC certified counseling staff come from all walks of life. They are both knowledgeable and passionate about helping others find their personal power, improving coping and communication skills and finding connections within the circle of life.
