Family Wilderness Camp
Each year, Kapown Rehabilitation Centre runs a Family Camp at Narrows Point on the North Shore of Lesser Slave Lake. Families who have begun the journey of recovery are welcome to participate in our 14 day
wilderness camp in July of every year. Available to all former clients and their families who have successfully completed our treatment program and have maintained their sobriety. The camp is free and fills quickly so apply early!
Clients who have been through a residential Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program and who have maintained at least 30 days of sobriety bring their spouses, children and even grandchildren to our beautiful wilderness area.
We provide 3 meals and snacks each day, laundry facilities, washroom and shower facilities, canoes, fishing gear and recreational equipment.
Participants will receive individual, couples and family counselling, educational sessions, experiential activities, recreational activities, cultural activities and support groups throughout their stay.
Note: We do not provide child care service during Family Camp. Single parent families must bring an alternate child care provider for children under the age of 10.
Please contact us for more information if you are interested in attending next summer.
